South Central Washington Projects

The Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) Washington hosts two distinct AmeriCorps teams that serve throughout Yakima County.

First, the construction program meets the needs of first time and low-income homeowners by building new affordable homes. Additionally, members will serve in a variety of community service projects include Senior Housing Restoration, Disabled ramp building, Numerous Team Building Exercises, and Graffiti Clean-up activities. This team has two sites; one with OIC of Washington’s Home Owner program and another with Habitat for Humanity.

OIC of Washington is also an AmeriCorps partner with the
Washington Reading Corps overseeing 25 members in Yakima and Benton-Franklin Counties tutoring reading in area elementary schools.
