High School Equivalency Program (HEP) Instructional Aide (Part-time)

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Bilingual in English and Spanish

Position Overview:

 

Assist the instructor to prepare Migrant and Seasonal participants to successfully complete their GED test.  Three evening classes will be taught each week during the 22-week session.  The classes will each be three-hours long.  There are two sessions per year.

 

 

BASIC RESPONSIBILITES:

 

  1. Assist the instructor in administering instructional materials to HEP participants.
  2. Tutor participants in different areas as needed.
  3. Assist with developing and monitoring daily work plans and activities for all participants.
  4. Assist with daily attendance recording keepings.
  5. Assist instructor and coordinator in the coordination of graduation ceremony.
  6. Assist instructor in monitoring satellite goals and objectives.
  7. Assist instructor in the developing of participant portfolios.
  8. Assist participants with enrollment paperwork, ensuring that paperwork is complete and accurate.
  9. Answer questions about the program from potential participants.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

 

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

1.    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and training skills.

2.    Excellent administrative skills to ensure documentation and paperwork are completed accurately and timely.

3.    Able to demonstrate a genuine concern and respect for all cultures and diverse populations served by OIC.

1.    Successfully pass a Criminal History & Background Check.
