Position Summary:
Recruit, enroll and provide services for qualified vocational
rehabilitation participants so as to enable them to have skills and
education to successfully be employed.
Complete and maintain accurate records and reports to fulfill
obligations of grant.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Meet or exceed program objectives and goals as established by supervisor
and grant.
2.
Actively recruit qualified candidates for the program through site
visits, posting bilingual flyers and addressing groups at appropriate
meetings (churches, support groups, hospitals and schools. etc.).
3.
Act as liaison for OIC with other organizations and service providers to
provide mutual support and generate close working relationships
4.
Interview potential participants, both in person and via telephone, to
determine eligibility for program services. Enroll eligible candidates who are
appropriate for program services.
Complete all intake forms and all other required documentation. For candidates who are not eligible,
referrals will be made to other appropriate service providers. The referral will be thoroughly
documented.
5.
Assess education, skills and aptitude of each participant. Determine appropriate employment goal
and perform market analysis to determined availability of jobs in that
field.
6.
Develop and implement individualized program for each enrolled
participants to determine required education, skills training, education
to prepare them that area of employment. As appropriate, coordinate on-the-job
training with employers in service area.
7.
Assist with resume preparation and interview skills (including practice
and counseling on proper dress and interview techniques) to prepare
candidates to be confidently prepared. Provide appropriate job referrals
and assistance to schedule interviews with employers.
8.
Co-enroll eligible participants into the WIA 167 Program and WorkForce
Centers.
9.
Interpret and apply knowledge of federal, state and local laws,
regulations and provisions, in providing employment and training
services to eligible migrant and seasonal farmworkers with disabilities
and their families.
10.Collect
and report evaluation data on activities and participant reactions.
11.On a
weekly basis, provide report to supervisor on personal caseload status,
including activities performed, recruitment effort, candidates
evaluated, enrolled and referred, and services provided. On a monthly basis, provide report to
supervisor with status meeting goals.
12.Perform
other duties as assigned or required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Noise level in this
work environment is usually quiet to moderate
¨
Work requires long periods of sitting or standing, also walking,
speaking, hearing, seeing and the ability to articulate clearly.
¨
Ability to work with personal computer for long periods of time.
¨
Frequent travel to and from sites within geographical service area.
¨
Occasional national travel to attend conferences, functions, etc.
Conditions of Employment
¨
Successfully pass a Criminal History & Background Check.
¨
Pass a pre-employment drug test.
¨
Maintain a current driver’s license and Washington State vehicle minimum
insurance requirements.
¨
Employment is conditional on CEO approval.
