| The
Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC)
Washington hosts two distinct AmeriCorps teams
that serve throughout Yakima County. |

|
First, the construction program meets the needs of first time and
low-income homeowners by building new affordable
homes. Additionally, members will serve in a
variety of community service projects include
Senior Housing Restoration, Disabled ramp
building, Numerous Team Building Exercises, and
Graffiti Clean-up activities. This team has two
sites; one with OIC of Washington’s Home Owner
program and another
with Habitat for Humanity.

OIC of Washington is also an AmeriCorps partner with the Washington
Reading Corps overseeing 25 members in Yakima and
Benton-Franklin Counties tutoring reading in area
elementary schools. |
