Foreclosure Assistance

Foreclosure is a situation in which a homeowner is unable to make mortgage payments as required, which allows the lender to seize the property, evict the homeowner and sell the home, as stipulated in the mortgage contract.

As soon as you realize you are not going to be able to make your mortgage payments follow these steps.

Step one:  Communicate with the lender.

Don’t wait!  When you realize you can’t make a payment call your lender and tell them your financial difficulties.  This gives them and you an opportunity to create a plan.  It may be scary but don’t wait!  Begin working with your lender immediately to avoid foreclosure.

Step two:  Work with a foreclosure counselor

Foreclosure Counselors can provide free advice and assistance with keeping you in your home or getting out safely.    BEWARE of mortgage relief scams and only discuss with a Certified Counselor.  One way to spot a scam is if you are asked for a fee in advance.

There are several programs and options that can assist with foreclosure. The Prosperity Center can help!

Call one of our certified counselors today to discuss your options.
